To be alive

If we’re lucky, we get 4,000 weeks on this planet. Yet most of us spend them on autopilot, and move through the motions in the rush of everyday life. We lose ourselves to yesterday. We lose ourselves to tomorrow. We forget the thrill of being alive today.
Sometimes, that reminder arrives through the kind of discomfort often found in adventures that leave us with no choice but to go all in, reminding us what it feels like to be alive. But it is also found in the space between what we do and what we notice. And in the gift of presence, we remember the simple miracle that we are here, now.
