If we’re lucky, we get 4,000 weeks on this planet. Yet most of us spend them on autopilot, moving through the motions in the rush of everyday life. Somewhere along the way, we lose ourselves to yesterday and we lose ourselves to tomorrow. We forget the thrill of being alive today.
Sometimes, that reminder arrives through the kind of discomfort often found in adventures that leave us with no choice but to go all in, reminding us what it feels like to be alive. But it is also found in the quiet space between what we do and what we notice. And in that gift of present awareness, we remember the miracle of being here, now.
When we finally remember our lives are a small flicker of light against the vastness of the universe, we stop measuring life by what we accumulate and begin measuring it by how deeply we experience it.
